Designer, poet and socialist William Morris took a lot of inspiration from the Cotswolds and the surrounding area. This talk will explore Morris's relationship with the region, and how it inspired his poetry, design and his ideas of ideal living - and look at the friends who were inspired to follow him here.

The Cotswolds became one of the most vibrant rural centres of the Arts and Crafts Movement in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Inspired by William Morris’s retreat at Kelmscott Manor, groups of designers and makers settled in the region. This talk explores their work, and their impact on the architecture, art and life of the area, looking at all areas of craft from country houses to churches to utopian communities.
